Thanks (again), GRIMEYtheFATMAN!

if you don't mind, will continue this in the Tweak thread (since you're there anyway & my OCD is in full force today)

&
YellowZx5, do you know anyone who could put together a podcast?

late-edit
oops missed your logo suggestion, Grimey
iirc I made a comment a few pages back (or maybe elsewhere) about facing right
left profile was cuz that's the way the coin faced...
thanks for the suggestions! - need to think (& go to grocery store )

My bad, I got my directions mixed up.
I meant something like this.

^ ah ok
& that seems too much just combining the the current & Marauder logos, GtFM
and I wanted something new-yet-heritage-ish
with the diagon-alley part to resemble a stylized wing
just wanted to get rid of that dorky (tho historically accurate) helmet
& then by mirroring the 'wing', think it gave a nice pattern (which kinda looks like the center of an "M", kinda)
but
I *love* any&all Mercury-thinking

Then how about shifting the mirrored wings down and moving the head up while surrounding it in a ring with mercury etched in the top of the ring?

Default Mission: MERCURY!

sorry for the hiatus, GRIMEYtheFATMAN
& anyone else playing along at home
I had a personal change of venue - NOT settled yet...
but
wanted to include here, the more contrast-ed version of GRIMEY's design
that Joshmo@M.T. did - DIRECT LINK & M.T. thread LINK

&
move on to "Current Events"
ie C-Max and superTaurus spypix & speculation & implications:

this may seem needlessly convoluted but imho it shows
1 how the 3 Brand approach (F-M-L) provides a stronger AND more flexible "stance" (tripod allusion implying stability)
- specifically re: the VFKAsuperTaurus (VehicleFormerlyKnownAs for those who've forgotten)
2 how different markets might use the same basic vehicle in unique ways
- re: C-Max (& friends)

1 VFKAsuperWHAT? LINK "my own non-bankable prediction, based on coming-$-catastrophe for much of Ford's demographic, is:
the "Fwd-superman" will be a Mercury, not a Ford"
Imho
the MKT is needed by Lincoln
& the Flex and the nextgen Explorer are needed by the Ford-Brand
BUT
the Taurus is Not and
the MKS is temporary re: GRwdP (re-imho)
I see any larger-than-Fusion car versions of the D3.2/D4(/E3/E4/EUusaCD+ = F/Awd) would be an excellent fit as exclusively MERC

Not saying Fomoco will do this but it sure makes sense to me
...keeping in mind that I'm "trading" the superTaurus for a GRwdP-Thunderbird as Ford's flagship - which may still be ready about the same time as the superVFKA, and
not ruling out the global Fusion (Or even the '10my MCE!!!) being a bit bigger than currently.

Without Mercury, I don't see an opening for
large,
secure'n'soothing (LINK),
premium by nature,
F-Awd sedan(s)

the 'everyman' consumer won't be able to afford one... unless it's justified by a 5th door for his family/lifestyle NEEDS.
only those A rung (or many) up the Ladder will have the bucks to support a larger-sedan PREFERENCE.

2 C-Max&friends
imho the C-Max WAGON does not fit the U.S. market AS IS
- change it into a Merc (the front styling) & we're good
- change the rear half to be even more superDuty (tho to much less extent than a T.Connect) = a BlueOval winner imho
&
- would leave room for the Escape's continuance
- I believe the Kuga will still beget a Lincoln, as I
- believe the ^MercWagonette^ allows room for both a very-offroadable Suvlet (Mesa? Mojave? 'Manjaro?) + a quasi-rather-offroadable ****** < closest idea is 4+2seater like a more rugged Mazda5 (= newMariner!)

Here's the LINK to my underconstruction chart if ya haven't already seen it

Edit a Day&1/2 before the 2nd-Qtr 'Nouncements:
Mercury Electron (C-Max-y Hybrid = C-Max size, S-Max roof on Verve-style body w/ Mercified HL/TL's)

depending on the 'Nouncement, this might be my last update to Mission: MERCURY!

Edit july30, a week & a smidge after posting the ^Electron chop^
someone at AutoExpress seems to have had the same idea - 'cept no mention of the 'E-Drive' ...oh wait, I didn't mention that either
anyway, see the attachment for a not-yet-Mercurized but colorized-to-match-the-Electron version

^^ looking forward to any & every idea, artandcolour

&
since I already mentioned a Merc Trucklet™, here's a possible "lifestyle model" that could be out even before the T6 is produceable
Mariner-based -- AWD-only(?) -- just the PIP-FlexFuel 3.0v6 & 2.5-HYBRID

thanks^ in large part to Tornado @ BON for his encouragement
original swiped from auto.cooone.com - who has a nice 2009 Mariner video too!

stretching the Mariner's 103.1/175.2 wlb/ovl maybe-as-far-as 116/196
tho I only changed the bottom of the rear door;
and used the hinged rear window cuz maybe it could have a full midgate?

(sorry for the 'jaggies' & the sloppy brick wall )
