Default Lincoln 2009my TouringCar photochoot near Death Valley

    (from an alternate reality)

This indigo testcar was choptured during a recent photo session in Death Valley.

The crew was surprisingly friendly - letting us peek under the hood at the 5 liter v8 (tho they wouldn't allow pix of that). They also said it was fulltime Awd with a rear wheel bias and was Not on the Interceptor's Mustang-derived platform. When cajoled, they admitted its intro would be sometime next year, after that of the MKS.
Tho it's hard to tell in this pic... it's BIG, about the same size as the CV they had as one of their support cars - tho its wheelbase was noticeably longer. The interior reminded us a bit of the MKS showcar except the room in the backseat looked huge, easily enough for 3 adults.

So you mean that you basically saw the production vehicle of the MKR and then photoshopped it to look like this picture? This actually looks quite nice. It would look a little better if the grille was bigger but other than that, very nice. Did they say what platform it will be based on?

I think 2b2 is just placing his prediction in a imaginary reality. Very interesting quality food for thought.

I particulary like the part about the 5 liter V8 and would have liked even more if the test crew would have told him that this engine is expected to be slightly north of 400 HP and that a detuned version of it will be the base engine in the Mustang GT for 2009 rated at 395 HP.

Can you render it in black for us?

Mercury is alive and well. It's called Lincoln.

    SobeSVT is closer 2 points!

Unfortunately the TouringCar is pure fantasy/suggestion at this point - that's why I put this in the Tavern and said "alternate reality, photochoot & choptured". Tho I kept the description 'feasible'... using ONLY a 5.0 v8.

The nose from above the bumper IS from the MKR, as is everything north of the doorhandles, but the rest of the body ISN'T - 2 more points to whomever gets what the rest comes from.
Shouldn't be hard, considering how unchanged the body is. Kinda got the idea from a chop request elsewhere.

Megeebee, the best my prehistoric puter/software will do is overall grayscale, which lacks impact imho. But here's a quick MIB version:

    Thanks!

These would look great driving to and from airports.

I recognized the foglights and wheels from the Flex right away. Very nice chop. Lincoln needs to build tihs car! I personally like that grill better than the tall one origionally on the MKR. It makes the front look less chunky IMHO.

I was gonna try to change the lower front fascia but crashed out. So the only change to the Flex's body was smoothing out the 'speed grooves'

It sounds like Ford has some impressive new motors coming out soon. They already got the excellent 3.5L with more power and bigger displacements on the way, TwinForce V-6, this 5.0L V8 with 400hp!! and the bigger V-8 for the F-150. Now they just need the cars to put them in.
